Angine de Poitrine - Vol.1 and Vol.II

Angine de Poitrine is an experimental rock duo from Saguenay, Quebec, Canada. The group is composed of two musicians who perform under the pseudonyms Khn de Poitrine and Klek de Poitrine. Their music combines elements of math rock, psychedelic rock, and microtonal music, creating a distinctive and unusual sound. They are also known for their unique stage presence: during performances, the members wear large papier-mâché masks, which adds a mysterious and artistic visual dimension to their concerts.

Their first album, Vol. 1, was released in June 2024 and contains six instrumental tracks. This album introduced listeners to the duo’s complex rhythms, unconventional guitar tunings, and experimental structures. Songs such as Sherpa and Ababa Hotel highlight their technical skills and their ability to create hypnotic and layered compositions. The album received attention from listeners interested in innovative and alternative rock music.

The group later prepared their second album, Vol. II, announced for release in April 2026. Like their debut record, it continues to focus mainly on instrumental pieces while expanding their musical exploration. Tracks such as Fabienk and Mata Zyklek feature energetic rhythms, repeating patterns, and influences from various genres including rock, techno, and disco.

With these two albums, Angine de Poitrine has gradually gained recognition on the independent music scene. Their originality, experimental approach to composition, and striking visual identity have helped them build a growing audience both in Quebec and internationally. The duo is increasingly seen as one of the more intriguing experimental rock acts emerging from the region.
