For more than two decades, The Oscillation has carved out a distinctive place within the psychedelic underground, building a sound shaped by hypnotic repetition, dense textures and constantly shifting atmospheres. With Interference, due out October 30, 2026 via Fuzz Club, Demian Castellanos pushes that approach further, treating sound itself as a form of visual art. Described by the artist as “a painting of sound rather than music”, the album brings together drones, feedback, motorik rhythms and fragile melodies, creating a striking tension between accessibility and abstraction. Rather than allowing its more experimental elements to descend into chaos, Castellanos carefully shapes them into immersive compositions, while several tracks emerged organically from fragments and abandoned ideas. Two compositions, Stasis and When You Close Your Eyes, even resurface after almost two decades in unfinished form.
Recorded and mixed by Castellanos in his home studio in the Czech Republic, Interference is further distinguished by the contribution of Lorena Quintanilla of Lorelle Meets The Obsolete. Her haunting vocals transform La Alusion—for which she also wrote the lyrics and melody—into one of the album’s defining moments, while she returns on Isolation Freeway. Remarkably, Castellanos created much of the record during a period when he had largely stopped listening to music, relying instead on instinct, memory and experimentation. The result is an adventurous and atmospheric album that constantly blurs the boundaries between structure and dissolution, combining hypnotic repetition, spectral beauty and controlled sonic disruption into another compelling chapter in The Oscillation’s singular psychedelic journey.
