Early Years is a remastered collection of Pond’s first three albums—Psychedelic Mango (2008), Corridors of Blissterday (2009), and Frond (2010)—capturing the band’s chaotic, imaginative beginnings. Originally recorded with minimal equipment and know-how, the first two albums had never been mastered until now, while Frond was revisited using pre-mastered mixes. Rather than drastically altering the sound, Jay Watson and Gin focused on enhancing the original spirit of the recordings, preserving their raw charm. Nicholas Allbrook reflects on the era as a time of playful experimentation by young, broke creatives just trying to make something wild and fun. The collection, described as a sepia-toned photo album of the band’s early days, will be released on “Mango Vision” vinyl for Record Store Day 2025 on Spinning Top Records.
