SKLOSS - The Pattern Speaks

SKLOSS, the Austin-by-way-of-Glasgow space-gaze duo, makes a striking debut with The Pattern Speaks, an album that melds heavy psychedelia, post-metal drones, meditative rhythms, and raw, distorted riffs into a powerful sonic experience. Across eight immersive tracks, the duo balances crushing intensity with ethereal beauty, crafting a reverberating wall of sound that feels both deeply personal and transcendent. Formed during the COVID lockdown, SKLOSS emerged from the homebound energy of drummer Karen Skloss (Moving Panoramas) and guitarist Sandy Carson (Iglomat), channeling their environment and emotions into music that defies expectations with its sheer volume and experimentation.

Following their 2022 self-released EP, Voices Travel Through This, and performances alongside acts like Divide & Dissolve and Messa, SKLOSS took their sound further, recording their debut LP at Point West Studios with co-producer Charles Godfrey (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Swans). The result, The Pattern Speaks, is set for release on March 7, 2025, via London’s Fuzz Club. Beyond music, Skloss is a filmmaker known for her work on documentaries about Syd Barrett and Townes Van Zandt, while Carson, a former pro BMX rider, has made a name as a photographer and cinematographer—further proof that SKLOSS is a project born from restless creativity and raw expression.
