Helicon & Brian Jones - 'A Degree Of Murder' - Train Station Scene, Sitar

A few years ago, Helicon contributed three tracks to an album featuring contemporary artists reinterpreting Brian Jones’ legendary soundtrack for the 1967 German film Mord Und Totschlag (A Degree of Murder), starring Anita Pallenberg. The goal was to recreate the songs as they appear in the film and then expand them into something uniquely our own.

The first 25 to 30 seconds of piece stay true to the original scene, capturing its raw, off-kilter energy. That’s why you’ll hear strange tunings, discordant notes, wild reverb, and the sharp, resonant tone of the sitar—placing you right in the middle of a vast, bustling train station, with towering brick walls and an echoing, channeling the spirit of Jones’ experimental genius.
