Black Bats third album Stay Dead, takes a side step from their previous releases, and comes with with a much more restrained approach this time around. The searing guitars are replaced with lush instrumentation, and an atmosphere of lounge and exotica pervading throughout the album.
In keeping with the more restrained and layered intentions, the album is a much more hi-fi affair than band’s previous works. The band enlisted the help of Shelby De Fazio (Bad Bangs) for extra backing vocals and harmonies, and Jesse Bolte (The Braves) for saxophone flourishes throughout the album.
