Floral Image - Gone Down Meadowland

'Gone Down Meadowland', the highly anticipated debut album from Norwich-based psychedelic outfit 'Floral Image', is set to release on April 25, 2025, via the renowned Fuzz Club label . After an intensive touring schedule in 2023, the band retreated to the vast, rural landscapes of Norfolk to rediscover their sound, blending the dynamic energy of live performance with a more introspective, textured approach to songwriting. Fueled by jam sessions in a freezing living room, Floral Image cultivated a new musical identity that balances raucous, live-driven intensity with a softer, more reflective tone. Drawing inspiration from bands like 'Woods', 'Stereolab', and 'King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard', the band recorded the album over six weeks in the summer of 2024, crafting ten tracks that explore themes of human connection, isolation, and the surreal beauty of their surroundings.

The album takes listeners on a journey through 'East Coast psychedelia', with Side A showcasing sun-drenched melodies and vivid lyricism, while Side B dives into heavier, more nightmarish territories. Standout tracks include the Revolver-inspired groove of “The Score,” the motorik pulse of “Tiergarten,” and the epic fan-favorite “Sun For Hire.” Produced by the band, mixed by 'Hugh Fothergill', and mastered by 'Joseph Carra', Gone Down Meadowland reflects Floral Image’s playful yet poignant spirit, offering moments of ferocity and wonder in equal measure. The release marks the start of an exciting European and UK tour in spring 2025, cementing the band's reputation for both musical precision and dynamic live energy.
