Magic Castles return with their new album Realized, a lush collection of psych-rock soundscapes from Minneapolis songwriter Jason Edmonds. The album, released on April 24th, 2026 via Fuzz Club, blends late-60s folk-rock warmth with modern shoegaze textures, creating nine dreamlike, melody-driven tracks. Using vintage amps, guitars, and transistor organs, the record maintains a rich analogue warmth while offering unprecedented sonic clarity, combining hazy nostalgia with expansive, layered arrangements and ethereal vocal harmonies.
Formed in the early 2000s by Edmonds, Magic Castles previously released four albums on Anton Newcombe’s label A Recordings Ltd, including 2021’s Sun Reign, which was featured on HBO’s Succession. After a European headline tour in 2023, Edmonds returned to Minneapolis to complete Realized with his current bandmates—Adam Patterson (drums), Izaak Drew (guitar), and Kristof Marden (bass). The album was recorded at Pachyderm Studios with Nick Tveitbakk, with additional sessions at Edmonds’ Map Room studio and Neil Weir’s Blue Bell Knoll, culminating in a co-mixed work that highlights the band’s signature dreamy, multi-layered sound.
