FAR OUT - 日本人 (1973)

Far Out was a short-lived Japanese progressive rock band formed by musicians who later became part of the renowned Far East Family Band. In 1973, they released their only album, 'Nihonjin', which showcased a blend of progressive rock, psychedelic sounds, and traditional Japanese influences. The album features long, atmospheric tracks with mesmerizing melodies, intricate guitar work, and cosmic synthesizer layers. 'Nihonjin' translates to "Japanese," reflecting the band's cultural and musical identity.

The record is characterized by its spiritual themes and an ethereal, meditative ambiance, making it a cult classic among prog-rock enthusiasts. Though the group disbanded shortly after, their work influenced the burgeoning Japanese psych-rock scene. 'Nihonjin' remains a testament to their visionary sound, bridging Eastern traditions with Western rock experimentation.
