Soundwire announce Double A-Side single with a 7” vinyl release on Fuzzed Up & Astromoon Records and share ‘Degrees Of Separation’ track.
Soundwire released their eponymous debut album to massive critical acclaim back in the winter of 2019. On the live circuit they toured hard, dazzling audiences up and down the UK and further afield with their inimitable blend of euphoric, psychedelic, indie rock earning a sizeable cult following on the way. After taking a small break to focus on writing new material Soundwire exploded back on the scene with last year’s highly anticipated anthemic single, Satellite. Physical copies of the single sold out in record time and are now considered collectable among those in the know. Following on from this, the band spent much of the second half of last year busy in the studio with legendary producer Thighpaulsandra (Coil, Spiritualized, Hawkwind, etc.) laying down the tracks that will form the basis of their upcoming sophomore offering which is expected sometime towards the end of this year.
The first fruits of these sessions come in the form of a scintillating double A-side lathe cut single via Dublin label Fuzzed Up & Astromoon Records with whom they also collaborated on their Satellite single.
The single, set for release on April 14th, consists of two tracks ‘One Day Too’ and ‘Degrees Of Separation’, the second of which they have dropped today with a visual accompaniment put together by Michael White.
Degrees Of Separation was written over Skype during the Covid19 lockdown, as were several of the tracks on the forthcoming album. It's a song about the slow, inevitable decay of a lengthy relationship and the disconnect felt therein. Although the subject matter may be a little downbeat the music itself is anything but! The track hits the ground running with its pulsating rhythms, Krautrock motoric beats and electronic undercurrent driving the song towards it’s inevitable euphoric climax! This one is sure to set (indie) dancefloors alight!!!
The single will be available to purchase digitally directly from the band and will also be available across all streaming services. The 7” Lathe cut record will be available to purchase from the Fuzzed Up And Astromoon Records Bandcamp and we do recommend getting yours early as the previous Soundwire 7” release sold out in less than forty minutes…..
